Amoxicillin is a type of penicillin antibiotic. They are used to treat bacterial infections in various parts of the body and may also be combined with other medications to treat stomach ulcers.
What are the side-effects of AMBIMOX Amoxicillin 500mg Capsule?
Like all medications, Amoxicillin can cause side effects, though not everyone experiences them.
Amoxicillin capsules can cause side effects, some serious and requiring immediate medical attention, including:
- Allergic reactions: Skin rash, swelling, breathing difficulties.
- Rash or bruising: Linked to blood vessel inflammation.
- Delayed allergic reactions: Rashes, fever, swollen lymph nodes after 7-12 days.
- Severe skin reactions: Erythema multiforme with itchy patches.

Dosage / Direction for Use of AMBIMOX Amoxicillin 500mg Capsule
Children (under 40 kg):
- Usual dose: 40 mg to 90 mg per kg per day, divided into 2-3 doses.

Adults, Elderly, and Children (40 kg or more):
- Usual dose: 250 mg to 500 mg three times daily or 750 mg to 1 g every 12 hours, based on infection severity.

- Urinary tract infection: 3 g twice daily for one day.
- Lyme disease:
- Early stage: 4 g per day.
- Late stage: up to 6 g per day.
- Stomach ulcers: 750 mg or 1 g twice daily for 7 days, with other treatments.
- Heart infection prevention during surgery: Dosage varies; consult your provider.
- Maximum dose: 6 g per day.
Kidney Problems:
- Dosage may be lower for patients with kidney issues.
Administration:
